LONDON’S SHIPPING

During the week ended January 13. 885 vessels, representing 904.571 net register tons, used the Port of London. Of these, 451 vessels (705,107 net register tons) were to and from Empire and foreign ports and 434 vessels (199,464 net register tons) were engaged in coastwise traffic. The arrivals included seven meat cargoes, viz, two from Australia, two from New Zealand and three from South America, comprising 232.000 carcases of lamb and mutton, 137,000 quarters of beef, quantities of pork, rabbits and sundries. Fourteen timber laden vessels docked in the Surrey Commercial and India & Millwall Docks with 27,000 tons of softwood.
