OUTSTANDING ATTRACTIONS. Kathleen Kelly is the sole feminine member of the cast of “The Mutiny of the Elsinore,” the thrilling John Argyle serpen version of the famous Jack London story, which will be shown tonight with matinees at 10 a.m. and 2. 15 p.m. tomorrow. It was distinctly a case of “beauty and the beasts,” for the casting director of the Argyle company had rounded up a crew for “The Elsinore” that looked villainous and rascally in the extreme. Kathleen Kelly appears as the daughter of the skipper of “The Elsinore,” and plays opposite Paul Lukas, who is seen as an author, sailing aboard the vessel in the hope of getting some authentic copy for a new book. When mutiny breaks out, he finds all the excitement and all the copy he requires. Lyn Harding appears as the tough bullying first mate, “Mr Pike,” while a strong supporting cast includes such well-known players as Clifford Evans as a gangster fleeing frojn justice, and taking a job as a common seaman aboard the wind-jam-mer, at Pat Noonan, the celebrated Irish actor, Michael Martin Harvey, Ben Soutten, and a whole host of others. The second attraction will be “Springtime in the Rockies,” with Gene Autrey in the leading role. It is a thrilling story of the West, and is one of the finest stories of its kind ever placed on the screen . The singing cowboy is seen in one of his best roles. The third outstanding feature is “Popeye Meets Ali , Baba’s Forty Thieves,” ■ a magnificent technicolour picture.
