DEER HURT IN CRASH

ADOPTED BY SHIRLEY TEMPLE. The ill wind of the proverb, the breeze with the dual personality, has blown some good again. As the result of an accident involving two cars and a deer, Shirley Temple has a new pet. Nearing home after a day at the 20th Century-Fox studios where she was working on "Little Miss Broadway." Shirley and her father saw a deer dash from a bordering park on to the road. Two cars swerved to avoid the animal, sidewiped each other, and the deer ran into both. Neither car was much damaged, but the animal was unconscious. It was carried to Shirley's stable, a block away where a veterinarian treated the animal's injuries, which were minor. Shirley immediately christened her new-found pet “Crack-up,” and looks forward to its friendly greeting each day after her return from the studio.
