Among the visitors to the Show yesterday was his Majesty’s AssistantTrade Commissioner. Mr J. Deuber, and Mrs Deuber, and Sir William Hunt, of Invercargill. Mr lan Mclntosh, of the Bank of New Zealand at Te Puke, accompanied by Mrs Mclntosh, was a visitor to Masterton last weekend. Mr Mclntosh was formerly on the staff of the Bank of New Zealand at Masterton. The Rev Father J. A. Higgins, S.M., organiser of Catholic Action in the Archdiocese of Wellington, left Auckland by the Awatea yesterday to attend a Catholic Action Conference in Melbourne.
Mr P. Keesing, barrister and solicitor, Wellington, has retired from the profession, having accepted an appointment as New Zealand manager for an Australian company with which he has been associated as attorney. The Hon R. Semple, Minister of Public Works, will leave Wellington for Auckland by the Limited express tonight to make a tour of the Bay of Islands district. He will inspect roads and aerodromes and other public works, and before returning to Wellington on March 1 will officially open the new water supply scheme for Huntly..
