Yearling steer (best type for chilling): P. Borthwick, 1 and 2. Commenting on the fat cattle display, the judge, Mr J. Webb, of Taihape. said he considered it was a most creditable exhibition and put one in mind of the old days at. the Masterton Show, with the exception that there was an absence of those big, gross, patchy overfat cattle that were shown in those days. The winners in every class were quite outstanding and were fit to be exhibited at any Show in the Dominion. The champion bullock was not awarded first place in its particular class due to overweight but it was an outstanding animal. The champion

heifer was also a first-class beast. In the class for chillers there were several pens that were a bit on the heavy side but generally speaking they were an outstanding lot of cattle. The standard throughout indicated that Masterton was now getting back to the champion fat cattle show in the Dominion.
