KEEP FIT WEEK
FINAL ARRANGEMENTS MADE. Details of the programme for “Keep Fit” Week, commencing on Saturday next, were finalised at a meeting of the committee last night, at which the Mayor (Mr T. Jordan) presided. Posters are being issued tomorrow containing full details of the programme and by the generous co-operation of several business houses a full-page feature will appear in Thursday's "Times-Age’’ further publicising the events of the week. Retail stores will also feature the "Keep Fit" idea in displays and advertisements and every local resident should be made fully conscious of the fitness ideal behind the organisation of the whole campaign. The thanks of the committee were extended to Mr L. B. Maunsell for his offer to lend lights for any events at the Park during the evenings and to the Power Board for offering to install the lights free of charge. It was reported that the two cricket teams which would meet in the "Old Timers’ " match would be captained by the Mayor (Mr Jordan) and by a Borough Councillor (Mr Geo Wilson).
