MACHINE MILKING

VACUUM BREAK PRINCIPLE. The "Vacuum Break" principle exemplified in a milking plant to be exhibited at the Show represents a comparatively new advance in machinemilking practice. Briefly it is a break in the vacuum, or a break in the continuous sucking of the teat cup. Every farmer knows how. when he places his finger in a calf's mouth, the calf sucks with momentary pauses between every

suck, not with a continuous sucking action.. The vacuum break principle is founded on that breaking action of the calf Such a milker, which imitates the action of’the calf, is claimed to be as nearly perfect as a machine-milker can be. Those who have a demonstration of this milker at the Show, the G.V.B. Milker, will be able to test this sucking action for themselves and see just how this new and amazing principle has been introduced into a ma-chine-milker.
