Do not discard the lid of your old dustbin upon buying a new bin, but instead punch holes in the old lid and convert it into a cinder sifter.

To keep your draining-board or bread-board clean and white, use a glove-mitt of the kind used for scouring saucepans. The dirt comes off easily, leaving the board very white.

When the top of the milk bottle gets lost or destroyed, an egg-cup inverted makes an excellent cover, keeping the dust and germs out.

Work in coloured cotton a mark on the top of your new stockings. This takes only a. minute and saves a great deal of time pairing after the wash.

Keep your old broken combs. After washing your brooms and brushes, dry them in the sun, and then run the comb through their "hair.” They will be quite new-looking and last much longer.
