WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT OPAKI. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Opaki Women’s Institute was held at the home of Mrs Wingate when Mrs Buick presided. A most interesting demonstration on cushion making was given by Miss Campbell. The competitions for the month resulted as follows: —Raspberry jam, Mrs Miller, 1, Mrs Buick, 2, Mrs Wingate, 3. Best bloom, Mrs Raynor, 1 and 2, Mrs Cooper 3. The Golden Thread was given by Miss Rollo, who favoured members with a most interesting account of her trip down south. Afternoon tea was served, the hostesses being Mesdames Wingate and Wyeth.
