Miss Patricia Jordan, The Terrace, Lansdowne, is visiting the South Island. Miss Peggy Sellar, who has been visiting Stratford, has returned to Masterton.

Mrs D. McGregor, Pownall Street, Masterton, has returned from a visit to Wellington.

Mrs P. Kummer, Kummerstein, is the guest of Mrs J. Bird, Renall Street, Masterton.

Miss N. Smillie, Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs J. Dove, Masterton.

Mrs H. Caro, who has been the guest of Mrs David Caselberg, Masterton, has returned to Wellington. Mr and Mrs J. D. O’Connor and Miss M. O’Connor, Masterton, have returned home from a holiday in Auckland and the Bay of Islands. Mr and Mrs W. F. McLaren and Miss Maxine McLaren, Te Rangitumau, have returned from a short visit to Wellington.

Miss Gertrude Carroll, Christchurch, is a visitor to Masterton, and will be a guest at the Myers—Savage wedding next Saturday. Mrs and Miss Snodgrass, who have been visiting Wellington, are spending a few days with Mrs H. Mackay, Renall Street, Masterton, before returning to Hamilton.

The wives of the members of the Pahiatua Post Office staff gathered on Thursday at the residence of Mrs C. S. Carrad to say farewell to Mrs D. Mitchell and Miss M. Moriarty, who are shortly leaving the district. Mrs Carroll, whose husband is taking Mr Mitchell’s place on the staff of the Pahiatua Post Office was also welcomed to Pahiatua by the gathering. Shoulder sprays were presented to the two guests of the afternon by Barbara Howat and Bruce Carrad and all present expressed their regret at losing two such popular members of the community, and tendered best wishes for success in their new spheres. Mrs Mitchell, on behalf of herself and Miss Moriarty, thanked Mrs Carrad and all friends for their expressions of goodwill and kind wishes.
