DEFENCE OF COLONIES
UNDER CONSTANT REVIEW BY BRITAIN. QUESTION ANSWERED IN COMMONS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, February 8. In an answer in the House of Commons today,, the Colonial Secretary, Mr Malcolm MacDonald, stated that the defence needs of the colonial dependencies were under constant review by the appropriate sub-committees of the Imperial Defence Committee and reports on measures taken during the recent crisis had been received from a number of the most important dependencies and action taken upon them where it seemed necessary.
In these circumstances, said Mr MacDonald, he did not consider it necessary to ask for a report from all the Colonial Governments on the adequacy of measures taken last September.
