The city views the general international position as distinctly easier. Stock Exchange prices are showing an upward tendency and the volume ot business is slowly improving. While observers expect minor setbacks, they believe that a real market rally is al present, under way. Gilt-edged stocks are slightly firmer, though irregular, due to some holders tending to switch ■to high class industrial securities.
