NATIONAL PARTY
CAUCUS IN WELLINGTON. MANY PROBLEMS DISCUSSED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A caucus of the Opposition Party was held in Parliament Buildings yesterday when all members were present with the exception of two, who were absent on account of ill-health. An official statement issued at the conclusion of the caucus stated that the greatest harmony prevailed among members, and that reports concerning the organisation of the party in the electorates indicated an ever increasing interest in the political situation. A full agenda was covered embracing discussions on all the leading political questions, with particular reference to the financial crisis and its attendant problems, such as reduction of trade with England and other countries, the disappearance of London funds and other reserves, and the decision of the Government to withhold the free doctor service, hospital benefits, free maternity service and free medicines. It was considered that the situation was so grave that the Government should be asked to call Parliament together in order to discuss the emergency that has arisen, and to decide the best ■means of relieving the situation. i
