MAURICEVILLE

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Mauriceville Women’s Institute was held at the home of Mrs A. Forsberg, Mauriceville West. The meeting began with the Ode to Friendship. Mrs H. Freeman piesided over a fair attendance. Members were asked to bring gardening hints to next meeting as the Federation had decided to have a gardening book printed, and sold in aid of its funds. Mrs F. Scherf and Mrs F. Paine were picked as delegates to attend the Federation meeting, which is to be held in Masterton. The nominations of members of the committee were handed in as the next meeting is the annual'one. A competition for wool cutting was won by a visitor, Mrs A. W. Urquhart. Mr A. Myers gave a most interesting talk on bees, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks, .<• The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs G. Neilson, Miss Neilson and Miss M. Larson. The meeting closed with the passing of a vote of thanks to Mrs Forsberg for the use of her home. Personal. Mrs McDonald, New Plymouth, is the guest of her sister, Mrs A. Forsberg, Mauriceville West.

Croquet Club.

The Mauriceville Croquet Club has reason to be proud of the team it sent to Eketahuna last Saturday. _ The points were Mauriceville 89, Pahiatua 83.
