MAGISTRATE’S COURT
FORTNIGHTLY MASTERTON SITTING. POLICE AND BY-LAW CASES. Mi' H. P. Lawry, S.M.. presided at the fortnightly sitting of the Masterton Magistrate's Court this morning. For a breach of his prohibition order Robert Sinclair McKay was fined £3. It was stated that McKay was found intoxicated in Queen Street with a bottle of beer and a bottle and a half of whisky in his possession.
A fine of £2 and 10s costs was imposed on David McGovern for operating an unregistered motor-lorry. For driving a Motor-lorry without a heavy traffic licence, John Donald Gray was fined £2 and 10s costs and for having no warrant of fitness he was fined £1 and 10s costs.
A fine of 5s and 10s costs was imposed on George McNaughton for having no- driver's licence. J. A. Betts and J. Edwards were each fined £l. 10s costs and 2s 6d expenses on charges of allowing stock to wander.
Victor Joe was convicted and fined £2 and 10s costs for exceeding the speed limit in a heavy traffic vehicle.
