TO SET A JELLY

TRY THIS WAY. If you want a jelly to set quickly and you are without ice, just soak a cloth in equal parts of methylated spirit and milk (not much liquid is required to wet a cloth) and wrap it round the jelly mould. Then stand the mould in a draught and the jelly will set in no time. The draught working on the mixture of methylated spirit and milk creates a very great degree of cold, and the odor of the spirit is taken away when it is mixed with milk.
