METHODIST CHURCH

QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of officials of the Mastertoil Methodist Church was held, last evening, the superintendent minister, the Rev Fred J. Parker, being in the cnsir.

The reports of.the various departments of the church life revealed good work being done, the Youth reports stating that the several, Sunday schools had all re-opened last Sunday with attendances well up to the mark registered when the schools closed for the holi day vacation. The sub-committee appointed had arranged for the fuller working of the envelope system of church finance, and were arranging an approach to all members. The financial statement, presented by Mr G. F. Rutter, showed a very considerable advance over the last quarter, and was favourably received. Dr N. H. Prior presented the final figures for the Home Mission Fund, showing that £lO2 had been raised, a result considered to be eminently satisfactory. Several matters relating to the spir’tual side of the work were mentioned by the chairman.

The election of the two circuit stewards for the year resulted in the reelection of Mr F. G. Rutter, and Mr E. M. Hodder by a unanimous vote, and they received the very hearty thanks of the officials for their splendid executive work during the yea>. past. A well attended meeting closed wiln prayer and the pronouncing of the Benediction.
