SWIMMING CARNIVAL

SUCCESSFUL GREYTOWN GATHERING.

KEEN CONTESTS LAST NIGHT. (“Times-Age” Special.) Keen and interesting contests were witnessed at the Greytown Amateur Swimming Club's carnival, held last night. Excellent entries- were received from Wellington and all parts of the Wairarapa and the carnival' proved most successful even in spite of rain which fell at intervals during the evening. Among the competitors were the four ex-New Zealand lady champions, Misses Leydon, Dunn, McDonald and Gray, who are at present touring the Dominion.

The carnival was capably organised and controlled by officials of the club and the president, Mr J. F. Thompson, thanked the public for attending in such large numbers and also the competitors. The results were as.follow:—
