Two men were killed when this plane crashed into the mountains surrounding Megalong Valley, N.S.W., on January 31. The pilot. R. H. Julius, son of the famous Australian engineer, Sir George Julius, and a passenger, Clarence Stumbles, wore returning from an aviation pageant at Orange when the accident occurred. A post-mortem examination revealed that Stumbles probably died only four hours before the rescue party arrived.
