WAR OF AGGRESSION
THE ATTITUDE OF HOLLAND
NO PASSAGE FOR TROOPS UNDER ARTICLE IG.
GOOD RELATIONS DESIRED WITH GERMANY. 3y Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.35 a.m.) HAGUE, February G. Holland will not allow free passage for troops operating against an aggressor nation under Article IG of the League of. Nations’ Covenant, if the aggressor is a neighbour,” declared the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Pat jin, in a written reply in the Chamber. He added that the entry of such troops into Netherlands territory would inevitably lead to a collision with the aggressor, making Holland a battlefield. The idea of Holland adopting permanent neutrality appeared undesirable and unachieveable. There was no question at present of military collaboration with Belgium. He stressed the importance of good relations with Germany, and noted with satisfaction that Germany was inclined to good relations with Holland.
