PALESTINE POLICY

* CONFERENCE TO MEET IN TWO SECTIONS FULL & FRANK DISCUSSION DESIRED. NO RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED BY BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, February 4. The Palestine conferences in London will be conducted in two series of discussions —one between British Government representatives and the Palestine Arab delegation send delegations from neighbouring Arab states, and the other between British and Jewish delegates. The discussions will proceed independently, but as' far as is practicable they will be kept parallel.

Mr Chamberlain, at the opening sessions, will welcome each set of delegates, who from the outset will meet separately. It is known that the British Government will in no waj 7 restrict the scope of discussions. It is bound by its obligations under the mandate, but it will not prevent discussion' on either the abolition or the amendment of the mandate and a full and frank discussion of the whole subject is in prospect.

DIVISION EXPLAINED ARABS REFUSE TO SIT DOWN WITH JEWS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, February 3. The Australian Associated Press says the strongest endeavours failed to persuade the Palestinian Arabs to sit down with Jews at the conference table; hence the necessity for -two separate conferences with the views of one to be conveyed to the other by messengers.
