In a speech at the Youth Conference on Democracy being held in London, Lord Baldwin emphasised the great strength of the democratic system in Great Britain.

It was a slow, natural growth, with deep roots, so that in working on the democratic system the British felt they were working on something which was part of themselves as well as helping in the evolution of history. For that reason he did not think democracy was in danger in Britain.
