The fact that his voice was far from pleasing did not deter him. At last one exasperated listener inquired: “Do you know ‘The Long, Long Trail’? “Yes,” replied the vocalist, proudly. “Shall I sing it?” “No,” snapped the bored one. “Hike it!”
