ADVANTAGES OF FRENCH TRAVEL CARDS.

The French Tourist Travel Card, which has proved so popular owing to the many advantages it confers on visitors to France, has come to stay. A new card is being issued in 1939 with added advantages.

The duration of the validity of the Tourist Travel Card will be increased from two months to three months, with a minimum stay in France of six days. The card will cost forty francs (about 4s 6d), but it will entitle the holder to 40 per cent reduction on all French railways. Tourists taking their motor car to France, will on showing the card.be able to purchase booklets of vouchers entitling them to a reduction of 50 centimes per litre of petrol, up to a maximum of 600 litres.. Motor cars are carried free on French railways provided that the fares of their owners reach a total of 750 francs. If the fares are below this total, then only the difference between the total fares and 750 francs is charged for transporting the car.
