WEDDING

ORMOND—HERRICK. Visitors from ail parts of New Zealand attended the wedding on Wednesday afternoon at St. John’s Cathedral, Napier, of Una Constance, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Herrick, Tautane, Hawke’s Bay, ahd Walcott Wilder, third soh of Mr and Mrs J. D. Ormond, Wallingford, Hawke’s Bay. The ceremony was performed by the Very Rev. Dean Brocklehurst, assisted by the Rev. A. Niblock, Porangahau. The bride was escorted by her father, and there were six bridesmaids: Miss Christina Williams, Frimley, Hastings: Miss Rachel Rolleston, Timaru; Miss Jacqueline Ormond, sister of the bridegroom; Miss Barbara Herrick, cousin of the bride; Miss Barbara Birch, Masterton; and Miss Rosamond Riddiford, Featherston, cousin of the bride.

Mr John Ormond attended his brother as best man, and the ushers at the church were Messrs Dennis and Michael Herrick, cousihs of the bride, Peter Herrick, brother of the bride, Dan ahd Michael Ormohd, brothers of the bridegroom, and Nick Wilder, cousin bf the bridegroom.

A charming colour scheme of ivory and blue had been chosen by the bride for herself and her attendants. Her beautiful gown was of ivory slipper satin, the bodice being made on tight-fitting medieval lines, and embroidered with seed pearls. The skirt Was’ cut very full, and fell into a long train. A girdle of seed pearls outline the waist. Her lovely veil of ivory tulle fell from a circlet of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of pearly gladioli. The bridesmaids were dressed alike in picturesque frocks of soft hydrangea blue'chiffon having cleverly tucked bodices and short tucked sleeves. They carried bouquets of cyclamens and fuchsias and wore sprays of fuchsias in their hair. A reception was held in the lovely garden of the home of Miss Ruth Herrick, aunt of the bride. The garden was a perfect setting for such an event, and the house itself was a bower of flowers. Mr and Mrs Herrick and Mr and Mrs Ormond received the guests. Mr and Mrs Walcott Ormond will make their future home at Mount Cameron, Hawke’s Bay.
