ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS. LOYAL WAIRARAPA P.G. LODGE. ("Times-Age” Special.) The quarterly meeting of the Loyal Wairarapa Past Grand’s Lodge of Odd Fellows was held at Martinborough last night, P.G. Bro G. S. Bruce presiding over a fair attendance of members. Accounts amounting to £2 18s were passed for payment. The annual balance sheet was read and adopted, showing a credit balance over the year’s operations of £5 6s Bd. The next meeting will be held at the Loyal Unity Lodge in April. SWIMMING CARNIVAL. LAST NIGHT’S RESULTS. The weekly carnival of the Carterton Swimming Club was held last evening when there was a good attendance of the public. Added interest wastaken in the events by the fact that visiting swimmers were present from Greytown. The officials got the events off with despatch and some excellent swimming was witnessed. The following are the results: — 50yds Intermediate: Harris 1, F. Gardner 2, P. Pinfold 3, Lola Hopkins 4.

BOWLING. champion' rink' game. The holders of the champion rink medals, Carterton, were defeated on the Carterton green last evening by Greytown by a fair margin of points after an interesting game. Scores: Greytown: Vile. Curtis, McLeod,-Hig-gison (s) beat Smith, Robertson, De Lacey, Tucker (s) 31/14. Heavy Railway Traffic. Yesterday afternoon a very long train, mostly empty sheep trucks, passed through Carterton. The train comprised 50 wagons. Thirty-one sheep wagons went to Masterton and it is understood returned later in the afternoon laden with sheep and lambs for Wellington freezing works. Personal Items. Mr Martin Parker and his son left Carterton by car yesterday afternoon for Woodville to attend the annual show there. Mr Parker’s Holstein cattle went through by train. ,Mrs George Thompson and her son returned to' Carterton yesterday after spending a holiday in Christchurch. Mr Geo A. Vincent and Mrs W. Moroney will leave Carterton on Thursday next by the Awatea for a month’s holiday in Australia. At last night’s meeting of the Loyal Wairarapa Past Grand’s Lodge of Odd Fellows held at Martinborough feeling reference was made to the deaths of Bros Jas Maguire and A. Rippon, and votes of condolence were passed to the relatives of the deceased brethren.
