COLLEGE PIPE BAND

PREPARATIONS FOR COMING CONTEST.

The Wairarapa College Pipe Band is at present practising daily, notwithstanding the holidays, with a view to participating in the New Zealand Pipe Band Contest to be held at Christchurch in March. The band is deeply indebted to Mr John Mackenzie (at present in Masterton) for devoting his time and attention to assisting the band. Under- him, the band is making wonderful progress, particularly in the drumming department. It is apparent, that the band’s capabilities fully'justify the public support anticipated for the concert to be held on February 13. The concert is being organised to raise funds to enable the bands to attend the Christchurch Contest. The box plan will open at Mr Pither’s shop on Tuesday next.
