FACIAL ECZEMA
NO APPEARANCE IN WAIRARAPA.
FARMERS UNION PRESIDENT
DENIES RUMOURS
A definite statement that no Wairarapa sheep had been condemned this season at Masterton or Wellington works because of the effects of facial eczema was made at yesterday s meeting of the Wairarapa Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union by the President, Mr H. Morrison.
Mr Morrison said that there had been rumours throughout the district that Wairarapa sheep had been condemned at Waingawa and at Wellington on account of facial eczema. The matter had been fully investigated by officials of the Department of Agriculture and it had been definitely proved that the rumours were baseless. No Wairarapa sheep had been condemned this season because of facial eczema. Some of the carcases had been yellow-coloured, but that was a fairly common occurrence.
