LONDON QUOTATIONS. BUTTER MARKET QUIET. A decline of Is a cwt in the price of New Zealand salted butter on the London market brought Friday’s quotation down to 124 s to 1255. According to the cabled report supplied by the Primary Products Marketing Department to the Dairy Board, the market was quiet. Friday’s closing quotations, with those of the previous week in parentheses, were as follows: — New Zealand, salted, 124 s to 125 s (125 s to 1265; a year ago, 106 s); unsalted, 126 s to 128 s (127 s to 128 s; a year ago, 110 s to Ills). Australian, salted, 119 s 120 s to 121 s (121 s to 1225); unsalted, 122 s to 1235, ex 124 s (124 s to 1255).

Argentine, unsalted, 116 s (116 s to 118 s).

' Danish, 116 s f.o.b. 137 s spot (117 s 138 s to 140 s).

Dutch, unsalted, 124 s (122 s to 1245). Lithuanian, unsalted, 125 s (1265). Polish, salted, 118 s (121 s unsalted, 118 s (120 s to 121 s).

South Africa, 116 s to 118 s (118 s to 120 s). The retail price of New Zealand but-, ter is Is 3d and that of Danish Is 5d a lb. The present price of 124 s is equal to approximately 14.87 d per lb f.0.b., New Zealand ports, compared with the guaranteed price of 14.89 d per lb f.o.b. The London equivalent of the guaranteed price is 124 s 3d per cwt. The equivalent price of cheese is about 7.74 d per lb, f.0.b., compared with the guaranteed price of 8.42 d.

Deliveries of New Zealand butter from store last week were 1005 tons. The quantity in store on Friday, including 1327 tons ex Rangitata, was 5679 tons, as against 4460 tons a year ago. Deliveries of Australian butter last week were 2412 tons, the quantity remaining in store being 6289 tons, as against 2676 tons a year ago. The cheese market, was quiet last week at a decline of Is io Is 6d a cwt, for New Zealand white and coloured. Friday's closing quotations, with those of the previous week in parentheses, were as follows: — New Zealand, white, 68s (69s 6d; a year ago, 67s to 675. 6d); coloured, 68s to 68s 6d (69s 6d a year ago, 67s 6d to 68s).

Australian, white, 61s, 64s to 65s (62s to 655); coloured, 64s to 66s (64s to 665). Canadian, white and coloured, 72s to 74s to 745); old season’s, white and coloured, 80s to 82s (80s).

English, finest farmers, 86s to 96s (84s to 965); factory cheese, 63s (63s to 665).

Deliveries of New Zealand cheese from store last week were 10,386 crates. The quantity in store on Friday, including 12,790 crates ex Rangitata, was 58,727 crates, as against 51,996 crates a year ago.

Deliveries of Canadian cheese last week were 8080 boxes, the quantity in store being 128,410 boxes, as against 112,508 crates a year ago.
