LONDON MARKETS UNEASY CONTINENTAL SELLING. OUTWARD DRIFT OF CAPITAL CONTINUES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received This Day, 12.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 27. The stock markets at the end of th< week unquestionably were in a sen sitive position. Brokers faced Continental selling and progressively lowered quotations, resulting in prices falling disproportionately to the volume oi selling. War Loan stocks lost 13/16 tc £26 15s. Colonial stocks suffered from scattered selling, but firmed later. German and European bonds recovered somewhat after heavy selling on Monday. The drift of capital from London continues.
WOOL SALES SLACKENING IN LONDON DEMAND. (Received This Day, 12.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 27. At the wool sales, 9,037 bales were offered, including 3,172 from New Zealand, and 7,265 were sold. There was a good selection. Demand was less active, bids often failing to reach the sellers' high limits. New Zealand, slipe crossbred, lambs Pareora, brought 12Jd.
