HASTWELL
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs Broadbent presided over a good attendance of members at the January meeting of the Hastwell Women’s Institute, which was held recently. Mrs I. D. Cameron gave an interesting travel talk on a trip to Sydney and Canberra. Mrs Cameron and Mrs Freeman judged the competitions for the prettiest apron material. The results were: — Seniors: Miss A. Dick 1, Mrs C. Seymour 2, Miss E. Dick 3. Juniors: Miss O. Halberg 1, Miss K. Larsen 2. The best flower competition was won by Miss P. Thorby (carnation), Mrs K. Ngatueri being second and Miss F. Madsen third. Mesdames Cameron and Freeman were accorded votes of thanks.
A game conducted by Mrs Dick was won by Miss O. Halberg, Mrs Freeman being second and Mrs K. Henshaw third.
Mrs Nagel and Mrs Ngatueri were the hostesses. The meeting concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
