THEFT CHARGES
WELLINGTON CLERK GRANTED PROBATION. MOTOR-CYCLE CAUSES DOWNFALL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. Henry John Westbrooke, clerk, aged 21, who was before the Court and remanded yesterday for sentence on four charges of theft from the Wellington Woollen Company, was today admitted to probation. It was made a special condition during the period, which w'as fixed for two years, that he refrained from using a motor-cycle, the cause of his downfall. “As soon as you forget about motorcycles and get down to the saving of money to make provision, as you get on. for your own home, the better it will be for you.” said the Magistrate. The accused is to make restitution of £4l 19s 9d, the amount involved in the charges.
