FRIEDA INESCOURT IN CHIEF ROLE. Coming to the Regent on Thursday next, Frieda Inescourt, brilliant Broadway stage star, who plays the role of a leading woman barrister in “Portia on Trial,” Republic Pictures’ ambitiously produced adaptation of Faith Baldwin’s world-fpopular romance, spent many weary' hours perusing law books of every nature in the public library. She believes a thorough study of books pertaining to the type of role she portrays gives her a better understanding of her characterisation, and follows this rule regardless of the type she impersonates. Miss Inescort also spent a very interesting and informative afternoon one Saturday when she had as her guests on the set Judge Georgia Bullock, of the Los Angeles Superior Court, and Judge Joseph Marchetti, of the Los Angeles Municipal Court. t-
