STOCK MARKET
MASTERTON SALE WRIGHT STEPHENSON & CO LTD. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co Ltd. report:—A big yarding of sheep came forward at yesterday’s sale, comprised chiefly of store lambs. There was only a moderate attendance. —The number of sheep yarded was far in excess of advertised numbers, our entry alone comprising 2250 sheep. B.f. lambs with any condition met with strong competition, and prices were above vendor’s expectations. Healthy ewe lambs also were keenly sought after, and prices ruling today were better than those of last year. However store wether lambs, Doth shorn and woolly met a very weak market and prices were very disappointing and showed a very definite drop on last week’s sale. Wethers were also very weak. Fats sold at late rates —Vendors met the market, and with the exception of one pen, we made a clearance as under: — Sheep—Fat 4th wethers to 19s Id; fat b 4th ewes, to 13s 6d; fat lambs, to 21s Id; f. and f. wethers, to 16s 6d; b.f. lambs (undrafted) to 17s 9d; b.f. lambs, 14s. 14s 4d. 14s 6d; b.f. lambs (small), 7s 7d, 8s 6d, 9s to 13s; woolly wether lambs, 9s lOd, 10s, 10s 3d, Ils to 12s 7d; woolly wether lambs (small), 7s, 7s 7d, 8s 3d, to 9s 6d; woolly ewe lambs (small), 10s to lb’s 2d.
LOAN AND MERCANTILE.
The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co Ltd report:—We held our usual weekly sale yesterday when we had a fair yarding of sheep which was submitted to a good attendance? Fat sheep were a little easier than at the last two sales. The stores consisted of all lambs—and b.f. lambs carrying condition were in keen demand. The same could be said about the white face wether lambs,.- but very few of this type were offering. Medium w.f. lambs met with a lifeless market, but vendors sold at prices we consider about Is 6d to 2s less than last week. The ewe lambs met with a keen sale at prices well up to late rates.
The following were our prices:—
Fat sheep:—Fat wethers 17s 7d, 18s to 18s 6d, heavy fat ewes, Ils 6d to 12s; fat ewes, 9s 6d to 10s 3d; Southdown ewes, Ils 6d.

DALGETY & CO LTD.
Messrs Dalgety and Co Ltd report on their usual weekly sale held yesterday as follows:— A full yarding of sheep came forward and was offered to a good attendance, including a few buyers from the West Coast. Our entry of 2,400 sheep was comprised mostly of lambs, and these, with the exception of good forward b.f. rape lambs, showed a decline in value on our last sale. Good b.f. rape lambs made from 15s to 18s 4d, but medium to good white face lambs were wanted only at reduced prices. This applied also to smaller lambs, these being down in sympathy. White face ewe lambs of medium quality met with a good market, making values on a par. Fat sheep also sold at late rates. We report a good clearance as follows: Good fat and forward b.f. lambs a/c E. W. Bunny, “Te Roto.” 18s 4d; do a/c F. W. Parry, Mt Bruce, 18s Id; b.f. rape lambs a/c F. H. F.C.D. COMPANY, LTD
The N.Z. F.C.D. Co Ltd offered a large penning of fat ewes and store sheep to a good attendance. Fat sheep were in over supply and last week’s rates were hardly sustained. The best drafts of w.f.w. lambs were 2s a head cheaper, and average and inferior grades showed an even further decline. There was a good demand for medium to good ewe lambs. Store wethers were down Is a head. Following are some of our realisations: Fat wethers, 17s 6d, 18s; b.f. 2-ths, 17s; b.f. 4-th ewe, 13s; extra prime ewes Ils; light, Bs, 9s; b.f. lambs, 14s 9d 15s 6d; cull, 7s 6d; best w.f.w. lambs. 10s 9d, 11s; medium grades, 7s 6d, 10s; small, ss, 6s; shorn w.f.w’ lambs, Ils Id; ewe lambs, 18s 9d; stock ewes, 245; 4-th wethers, 15s. 16s: weanei' pigs, 18s, 21s.
