WEDDING

HENSON—BENGE The marriage took place at Knox Church, Masterton, on January 7 of Beryl Madge, youngest daughter of the late I\Jr and Mrs W. R. Benge. Carterton, to Alfred Fergan (Fred), youngest son of Mrs and the late Mr A. Henson, Masterton. The Rev. J. Davie officiated.

The bride, who was given away by her brother,' Mr. A. Benge, Carterton, looked charming in a frock of cream crepe-satin, with a long train. The frock was trimmed at the neck with silver ornaments, a silver buckle was worn on the belt, and silver flowers on the scalloped train. The halo veil was held in place with orange blossoms. The bride carried a sheaf of white lilies and maidenhair fern.

The bridesmaids were Miss Mavis McNab, Masterton (chief) and Miss Heather Benge (neice of the bride), Carterton. They both wore blue crepesatin frocks and blue mittens, halos and shoes to match their frocks, and carried bouquets of hydrangeas and maidenhair fern. The two little flower girls were Lexie Bond, cousin of the bride, and Nancy Fellingham, neice of the bride. They both wore ankle length frocks of pink with pink head bands and carried a posy of sweet peas, carnations and maidenhair fern. Mr. Bernard Benge, brother of the bride, acted as best man, and -Mr Edwin Spicer as groomsman. As the bride was leaving the church she was presented with two horseshoes. a satin one by Iris Benge, neice of the bride,' and a silver one by Phyllis Ewington, neice of the bridegroom. A reception was afterwards held at the residence of the bride's sister, Mrs. S. Fellingham. when the usual toasts were honoured.

The happy couple later left by car for the North, where the honeymoon was spent. The bride travelled in a navy blue costume with hat and shoes to tone. Mr. and Mrs. Henson's future home will be in Masterton.
