NATIONAL SERVICE

BRITISH ORGANISATION PLANS RESERVED OCCUPATIONS. SCHEDULE FOR GUIDANCE OF WORKERS. (Received This Day, 10.5 a.m.) LONDON. January 24. Between six and seven millions, half Britain’s man-power, are included in the Government’s scheme of “reserved occupations” in the Ministry of Labour's schedule published today. The jobs of these workers are regarded as of national importance and they will not be enrolled for any form of national service, such as air raid precautions, which is whole time in war, but not in peace. The schedule shows the work- 1 ers whether by reason of age, particular occupation, or both, their job is regarded as national service.
