DALFRAM AT SYDNEY
COST OF PORT KEMBLA STRIKE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. SYDNEY, January 23. ' The steamer Dalfram, which figured largely in the Port Kembla pig-iron dispute which is now settled, arrived at Sydney today for docking and cleaning consequent on two months’ idleness. She will return to Port Kembla tomorrow to load pig-iron. It is estimated that the strike, which also involved more than 3000 steel works employees, cost the men £250,000. Three weeks must elapse before the steel works will be in full operation and maximum production.
LICENCES WITHDRAWN. (Received This Day. 11.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. As a result of the settlement of the Port Kembla pig-iron dispute, a Federal proclamation has been issued withdrawing the application of licences at Port Kembla.
