MODEL AEROPLANES

PROVINCIAL CONTESTS. MASTERTON CLUB GAINS SEVEN PLACES. The Masterton Model Aero Club held its first annual provincial contest covering the southern districts of the North Island at the polo grounds at Te Ore Ore over the weekend, under fairly favourable weather conditions. The wind at times was rather strong but the various events were eventually completed. The contest proved to be a very enjoyable outing for all the competing teams, and the Masterton Club was thanked for the thorough organisation and control of its first big contest. It was also mentioned that Masterton has been suggested for holding the centennial aeroplane contest at Easter, 1940, when teams from the whole of New Zealand and Australia would be competing.
