ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS
WAIPOUA LODGE. The bi-monthly meeting of Waipoua Lodge, No. 99 1.0.d.F., was held in the Orange Hall last night, there being a fair attendance of members. Reports were received on sick Brothers. Various aspects of the Social Security Act were discussed. It was decided to pay a visit to Bellvue Lodge, Lower Hutt, at the end of the month. The matter of attendance of members at meetings was discussed, and all members are asked to attend the next meeting.
MEETING AT CARTERTON. ("Times-Age" Special.* The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge was held last evening. Bro A. R. Tankersley, N.G.. presided. Sick pay was ordered to be paid, and one member was declared off the funds of the Lodge. ’ A vote of condolence was passed to the widow and family of the late Bro A. Rippon, of Masterton, members standing in silence as a mark of respect to the deceased. A maternity claim was passed for payment. The V.G.-elect forwarded his resignation of the office owing to being unable to be present at meetings on account of military training. The resignation was accepted with regret and Bro C. C. Deller was elected to the position. The official visit of the Grand Mistress and her officers will take place next lodge night when it is hoped there will be a large attendance of members. A member wrote asking particulars concerning treatment at Rotorua. Particulars are to be supplied.
