The newspapers give prominence to reports that General Franco is exchanging American wheat, sent to Spain for relief purposes, for German guns and shells. The rebels and Republicans have each received half of the regular shipments from the American Relief Committee, but General Franco does not need supplies. It is alleged that a German ship lay off Pasajes for six days, refusing to unload munitions until the usual wheat cargo arrived at the port.
