LATE MR RIPPON

FUNERAL THIS MORNING. There was a large and representative attendance of mourners at the funeral of the late Mr A. Rippon. which took place this morning. Members of the Masterton Juvenile Odd Fellows’ 'Lodge, Masterton Odd Fellows' Lodge and District and Grand Lodge officers preceded the hearse. District and Grand Lodge Officers present were: —Sister Macfarlane, District Grand Master; D.D.G.M., Bro G. W. Craddock; D.S.. Bro E. W. Guise; members of the district committee of management, Bros A. J. B. Foote, R. Baikie, R. Farrow; Bro F. A. Davis, district auditor; Bro C. O. Jorgensen, district trustee; P.G.M’s. Bros A. C. Blair and A. G. Shrimpton (the latter K reading the Odd Fellows’ service). Among those present were the Mayor, Mr T. Jordan and Councillors H. E. Gardner and W. H. Judd; the Town Clerk, Mr T. T. Denbec. and Mr J. Robertson, member for Masterton. Pastor H. Skuse, of the Kuripuni Methodist Church, conducted a service at the residence, Cornwall Street, and also officiated at the graveside. The pallbearers, all members of the Odd Fellows’ Lodge, were Bros F. A, Davis, S. V. Gooding, J. Langley, R. Baikie, F. H. Wright, and P. Reynolds. Many beautiful wreaths were received. amongst others from the Odd Fellows and Druids lodges.
