Earl Winterton, in a speech, said: •‘Those unamiable septuagenarians Messrs. D. Lloyd George and H. G. Wells have recently been screaming defiance against dictators and Mr. Neville Chamberlain. What an odd way for these old gentlemen to spend their last years! They are scolding a world which has long ceased to take either seriously."
