COSY THEATRE

“BAR 20 JUSTICE.” At the Cosy Theatre to-night there will be shown “Bar 20 Justice,” which marks William Boyd’s eighteenth appearance as Clarence E. Mulford’s rancher. His grizzled, oldtime appearance and quaint, cantankerous manner have made George Hayes one of the best loved character players in motion pictures. After twenty years on the stage he came to Hollywood, intending to retire, but was set upon by enthusiastic producers who put him into fifty pictures in two years! John Beach, who plays the murdered mine owner, is known in Hollywood circles as “The Park Avenue Cowboy.” He earned this name because, although fborn into New York’s top social set, he deserted the champagne and caviar of Manhattan for a life in the saddle. When Wiliam Boyd chose Gwen Gaze to be his leading lady in ‘Bar 20 Justice” the other members of the cast teased him for playing favourites. Miss Gaze, who is known in Hollywood for her fresh beauty and her unusual ability to manage wild Western horses, appeared with Boyd before, in the recent “Partners of the Plains.” A powerful drama of paroled oxconvicts and the parole rule that forbids them to marry, comes to the Cosy Theatre in “You and Me,” Paramount’s new Sylvia Sidney-George Raft film. Featured in the excellent supporting cast of the new film are Roscoe Karns, George E. Stone, Waren Hymer and Barton Mac Lane.
