WORLD COTTON AND WHEAT CONFERENCE. PROPOSED BY AMERICAN MINISTER. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. WASHINGTON, January 19. The Secretary of Agriculture, Mr H. A. Wallace, announced today that he had recommended to the President the convocation of an international cotton conference to develop plans for the disposal of the huge surpluses, and also a conference to deal with the wheat situation.

He pointed out that the United States of America has a record carryover of 14,000,000 bales of which 11,000,00 are held by the Government, on which it has made loans of 8.3 cents a pound. z
