Charges of using premises as common gaming houses were preferred against Jack Brooks, George Herbert Lavery and Arthur Lobb when they appeared in the Masterton Magistrate’s Court yesterday afternoon before Messrs E. G. Eton and R. Krahagen, J’s.P. Detective-Sergeant W. Kane appeared for the police and defendants were represented by Mr H. H. Daniell. On the application of the DetectiveSergeant a- remand was granted until January 26.

Bail was allowed in each case of self £lOO.
