PAINFUL INJURY

MAN’S HAND CRUSHED IN MACHINERY.

Great fortitude in face of- severe pain was displayed by Mr Frank Searancke, aged 24. when his right hand was caught and crushed in some machinery at Mauriceville this morning. About twenty minutes elapsed before Mr Searancke’s hand could be released and when he was at length set free it was found that two of his fingers were missing.

The injured man, who is employed by Mr F. B. Gray,, was taken to the Masterton Hospital.
