Interest in air raid precautions among New Zealanders is evident from a report covering the activities of the St. John Ambulance Brigade during 1938. which as been issued by the chief commissioner for the Dominion. Lieutenant-Colonel G. Barclay. of Dunedin. "Classes of instruction in air raid precautions were again carried out in several centres, and quite a number of persons qualified themselves," the report states. "It is anticipated that during 1939 this work Will be further extended."
