The supermarine Spitfire lighter, which.was on exhibition at the R.A.F. stand at the Aero Show, made a flight from Le Bourget to Croydon today, heaving Le Bourget at 2.27 p.m.. the plane landed at Croydon at 3.8 p.m. The average speed for the flight of 205 miles, including climbing to a height of 18,000 feet, was thus 300 miles an hour.
