GALE DAMAGE
SHED BLOWN DOWN AT FOXTON. HARBOUR BOARD LAUNCH ADRIFT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FOXTON, This Day. Foxton and its beach experienced the full force of the gale. A tow shed belonging to Messrs Ross Rough and Company was blown down and a Harbour Board launch broke its moorings. Yesterday the vessel was aground in the river, but safe. The pilot, Captain C. Vendore, made an unsuccessful attempt to get on board lasi evening, but was prevented owing to heavy seas. Practically all the small boats at the beach are adrift or awash. STRONG SQUALLS. MINOR DAMAGE IN MANAWATU. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH. This Day. Minor damage was done to trees, fences and power lines in exposed places and orchards also suffered .yesterday and overnight as a result of strong wind squalls which swept (he Manawatu from the north-west, bringing rain.
Conditions arc still very squally, with, fitful bursts of sunshine. The Milson Aerodrome registered a wind velocity of sixty miles an hour.
