STOCK MARKET

SALE AT FEILDING. HIGHER VALUES FOR SHEEP. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING. January 13. A start of the seasonal heavy yarding.? was seen at the Feilding stock sale today, when a scheduled yarding of more than 14.000 head of sheep, mostly lambs, was offered to a large attendance. The demand was strong from the outset, and despite the heavy entry, very few pens were passed in; in fact, values were much higher than had been anticipated. However, competent authorities do not expect prices to remain long at the present level. A very small margin was shown for buyers, buti apparently the market was in a buying mood. Fat sheep made late rates, with one or two good lines above schedule limits, but the sale was not very strong. For store cattle there was a definite demand for farmers - lines of station stock, but all other entries were neglected. Ordinary store material was firm, and fat cattle made fair sales, but again the quality was not particularly good, with a predominance of ex-dairy cows.
